A Week with the Bergers

In the BVI, we met the Bergers, a family from Switzerland. Three of them came to visit us on board Sila a week ago. We had an excellent time with Rolf, Jeannette and one of their sons, Florentine, who we call Flor. Flor posted to the Sila blog a couple of days ago and here are some more pictures from our fantastic week with them:
Flor, Porter and I were often fooling around. Here we all tried to cram ourselves onto the boom.
The first place we arrived, Nordoyon, we went for a walk around the small island. We had a good view of some of the other islands from this cute little light house.
Jeanette is looking good with an elegant feather in her hat.
Sila tied up to the small dock near the nice collection of houses.
Flor, Porter and I went fishing off this breakwater. Unfortunately, we had no luck.
On the other hand, when we went crabbing, we caught two large rock crabs. When we put them in the same bucket, they fought, so we put them in separate ones. This is good because we had enough trouble getting each one out of its own bucket for the picture.
Flor taught Porter and me a few Swiss card games and we all had fun playing them.
On a rainy day of motoring, the three of us played the board game Risk, which was fun and took all day.
As we sailed and motored, the scenery was amazing and beautiful, almost beyond description. The slope behind Jeannette does not even get close to capturing the full beauty of that one piece of landscape.
 Rolf, steering at the helm.
This is Zopf, a type of Swiss bread the Bergers made for breakfast. It was delicious.
Florentine wrote a blog post about the hike on Torgotten, but it was too amazing to be left out of this photo blog.
This is the mountain, Torggoten, from afar.
Mama's birthday was on this day and it was sunny and beautiful. The sunset was pretty as well.
Some school got done, as well. Well, only a little, but we still did some while Flor worked on his blog, rather than being complete slackers.
Rolf and Daddy apparently enjoyed chatting, as they are here on the poop deck.
This is an amazing picture taken by Rolf at Moyhamna.
At another stop, we walked to see this pictogram, the oldest known recorded skier in the world. He was engraved in a sheet of granite.
Flor, looking good with a cool landscape.
We climbed up on the spreaders and admired the view of the fjord.
This panorama was taken in the town Mosjoen.
We went swimming near the boat. The water was freezing.
Rolf and Mama had a whiskey taste test. They apparently enjoyed it. This was the final evening before the Bergers left and we were all sad to see them go. -JackRabbit
