Day #5

1330UTC Saturday Dec 7 2013 15-06.6'N 32-32.1'W

Noon to noon daily run was 131nm, so the winds have filled in some. Not much but enough to keep us moving. Yesterday we made it south to the 15th parallel and are now running west on the 15th parallel for a few days before joining the great circle route to Antigua. We have sailed 446 nautical miles and have another 1,740 to go. Homemade cookies for lunch dessert,f resh bread dough rising for dinner, and see below for the lunchtime contribution by Porter. - Christopher

Today I caught a 18" tuna. We fried it up with a little butter and lemon for lunch, it was delicious! I hope there is more to come, all that waiting paid off and thanks to Steve for all your fishing tips. - Porter

I have been spending a lot of time listening to a book by Rick Riordan, Red Pyramid. I am enjoying learning about the Egyptian gods. - Jack Rabbit

Two highlights from the past 24 hours: Porter's fish and listening to the Messiah start to finish under the stars on watch last night. Five days in and I still love my family. - Molly

So far a five star run. Crew, food, and winds all fair. the ocean is am amazing place and I am inspired. The stars take me off the earth. Love to All - Mary
