Day #13 Cape Verdes to Antigua Crossing

1450 UTC DEC 15 2013

POSITION: 16*56'N 53*17'W

Local Noon daily run: 167nm. We have under 500 nautical miles to go, so another 3.5 days or so to go assuming the wind holds. Very strong winds the last 48 hours, with gusting in squalls well over 40 knots, haven't seen anything less than the high 20's for a few days. Sila solid and and just grinding out the miles. We have all gotten used to the increased intensity of motion and speed. Sailing wing and wing with double reefed mainsail and a partially rolled Genoa poled out. Working well and easy to roll up the Genoa for the squalls.

All is well - Christopher

  1. Ho, Ho, Ho, Christmas in Antigua! No Snow but I'm sure that you will enjoy the sight of land after all these days. Did you do your Christmas shopping and (Glo adds) baking while out there on the briney? We miss the snow in Tucson also. Love your news.
