Here in Ria d'Arosa, we have
seen the smoke from many forest fires. Yesterday, we were anchored near a small
island where another fire flared up. Jack's personal journal entry last night
captured the events of the day quite well. With his permission, I have included
a photo of his journal below.
In case you cannot read his
description, this is what it says:
This is a picture of a helicopter picking up water and throwing it on a forest fire in Isla de Arosa.
We were less than a mile away from the fire. Also we saw the helicopter pick up
water and drop it on the fire. We knew we were safe because we were on water. I
still was pretty worried. Anyway it was pretty amazing to see the helicopter.
