I don't like bug bites because they itch, they feel bad,
they are annoying, and they make me look bad. Mosquitoes, horse flies, and
green flies all bite. This makes them bad bugs. Lots of other insects are okay,
such as spiders, ants, butterflies, caterpillars, moths, and beetles. The bad
insects show up more than the good ones. Or at least they feel like they show
up more. The good ones are not annoying so you don’t notice them and they are
less considered in your mind.
I care about this because for the next three years, I will likely
be covered in bug bites. I am basically living outside so the bugs can always
attack. On Sila, we need to leave the hatches and the door open when we are
anchored otherwise it would be way too hot and stuffy on board. With the fresh
air, the good bugs come in and so do the bad ones. Even though we have screens
to put on, the bugs still find some way to get in.
Living on Sila is fun except for having bug bites.

Did you know that if you eat bananas in the summer months, bugs will be more attracted to you because they will smell the potassium on you. Therefore, make sure that Porter eats lots of bananas and YOU will be bug free!!!
