When you gaze up
At the star strewn sky
What do you see?
In your own eye
Is it a wondrous beauty
Plastered on the world
With twinkling diamonds
As your gaze unfurled
But then look again
And what do you see
When the glinting speckles
Seem in 3D
Are they mysterious depths
That make you gasp
Seeming to draw you in
To its starry grasp
The bright ones are near
And the faint ones are far
It all seems so different
As you stare back at each star
The breath rises within you
And you seem mighty small
There's breathtaking wonder
At the size of it all
On the long passages, there is virtually no light pollution. The stars shine clearly and brightly every night that has no clouds. Here in Norway, there are only a few hours of darkness in summer so I have not seen that many stars. But when we were farther south, I would gaze up at the night sky, and see it as the deep 3D galaxy that inspires so much wonder. It is not just a beautiful night sky but also a mysterious one. Either way I look at it, the stars and night sky are always awe-inspiring.-JackRabbit
