We had one truly extraordinary day on South Georgia when we visited Salisbury Plain, home to the second largest King Penguin colony in the world. The Rabbit wrote about this day in his post, A Good Healthy Dose of Penguins, on February 5.

Penguins almost as far as you can see. Over Porter's shoulder, you can see the colony extending up the hillside. There were over 200,000 king penguins in the colony.

Adam, Molly and Jack enjoy a close encounter with some juvenile king penguins at the edge of the colony. Jacks walking stick was essential for navigating through the fur seals.
