The cold mountain towered high above me. An American flag perched precariously on top. Warm brownies lifted two gimungo scoops of peppermint candy ice cream. There on top, standing high above all, stood the belly-breaking scoop of cream-caramel ice cream supporting its avalanche of whip cream, sprinkled with walnuts. In just over twenty minutes, the magnificent sundae was replaced by a small pool of melted ice cream and two moaning boys.
At the beginning
and at the end. Well…
We had decided we would leave on Friday so Thursday was to be our last day in Florida. We decided to walk to the local ice cream parlor, Jaxson's. This place already serves ice cream scoops nearly the size of Jack's head, so the three scoop sundae split between Jack and me was specifically reserved for the last night in Florida. Even though we were about to be served the largest sundae I have ever seen, we were given a generous bowl of popcorn while we waited, what is wrong with these people? No complaints though. I could barely get out of my seat after eating, I was so full—and even though Mama didn’t get any ice cream herself and helped eat our sundae, we still didn't finish it. Daddy was busy with his coffee milkshake. Given how much sugar we had just eaten, it is a good thing that we walked home that night. - Porter

I can hear Poppy saying "I will not hold your head while you're sick".
