Always, It Will Mean Something
Not a person, but full of meaning, Always it's something
Whether raging and thrashing, grey like a rock
Or inviting and calm, a breathtaking blue
It is always with us, where the wind blew
Where we sail, on Sila, headed for Something
A noise, a presence, making us rock
Cradling and talking as we rock
Talking: a lapping, sloshing out in the blue
To me, it will always mean something.
It is something, but not like a rock, it's a presence of the blue.
This poem is a tritina, a style of poetry which has a specific format. Three chosen words are repeated in each stanza, at the end of each line. They are repeated in a specific pattern. And then after the three stanzas, there is one final line that uses all three words. The repetition concentrates your attention on the three words. In this case, my words are: Something, Rock, and Blue. -JackRabbit
